Heck, I didn't even know there were still Sizzler Restaurants around.
(Apparently, they are still running in the Rockies.)
I used to order this as a kid...and I still make them today. In about 18 minutes I can make a hot, flavorful dinner without dirtying a single bowl. (Actually, that's wrong. It's EXACTLY one bowl.)
I take a MorningStar Original Chicken patty and bake it for 16-18 minutes, as directed. No brainer here. A few minutes before it's done, I place a slice of ham and Swiss cheese on top. A few tablespoons of Hellman's mayo, a few squirts of Plochman's yellow mustard, and a pinch of sugar makes a nice tangy sauce.
Voila!
My version of Sizzler's Malibu Chicken for about $2 and 18 minutes.
That's a LOT better than 16.99 or so...
(Not to mention that whole "Having to drive West of the Mississippi" part!)
Hey, so what are YOUR favorite "Taste-Alikes?"
And, if you make this, please leave a comment and let me know what you think.
P.S. From their picture, it looks like Sizzler is now putting the ham between two slices of Swiss. More cheese, yep, I like that adjustment. *Wink*)

yup! I live about 3 hours from sizzlers in Portland OR. This sauce is very good to the taste. Tryed to make it several times and never put in sugar, that's the trick. Thank you Wanda
I will try the sugar but I've been using a little horseradish sauce. Pilfer a pack from Arby's and try it. Not bad.
Omg.. this looks delish! I'll have to try it sometime. Thanks for sharing. :)
I too, always order Malibu Chicken. We still have a Sizzler here in my hometown, Hemet, Ca, although we haven't been there in years. We used to take the kids there for their birthday dinners & they loved it. My daughter's coming over for dinner tonight & I thought I'd make Malibu Chicken. Thanks for the sauce recipe!
This looks delicious. I'm going to try to lighten it up a bit by subbing the mayo and breading the chicken myself. Great recipe!
Hi hotspicyandskinny,
I would agree, making it yourself would be a better option. We like to have this in our back pocket...for quick meals :)
Thank you for stopping by.
