Vintage? Mid-Century? Modern? Rustic Country?

I need more rooms in my house.
Okay, not really.

But, I wish I could spend my days decorating other people's homes.
I'd love to do a retro inspired Mid Century room with modern dining room furniture.

Maybe feature a sideboard like this one.
Tell me that doesn't just scream Mad Men!
It would go perfectly with my Heywood-Wakefield vintage bedroom.
(Not that I need a sideboard in the bedroom.)

Seriously, I love this clock shown in the photo at the very top of the post.
Drool.

I love all eras.
The 20's which the era of my enameled top kitchen table. Blending into the 30's which incorporates my 1936 Philco radio. The 40's for its rustic country charm. The 50's sleek metal atomic looks.

My decorating style is just so specific to an era for each room that it can be limiting, yanno? If you decorate in one style through out your home you have the benefit of being able to move pieces from room to room while keeping the style consistent.

However, that limits you to just one era. One style.
In the whole house?!
I just can't do that.

What's your style? Which era do you love?
And, do you incorporate that into your lifestyle?
Or, do you simple pine away while you live with something else?
I'd love to know :)

I am rustic, country, primitive all the way. I walked into a friend of my Moms house when I was like 10yrs old and she was totally rustic/country and I was blown away. Even at that age I knew that it would be my style.

I love vintage dishes, and utensils and serving pieces. There really is truth to the saying "they don't make 'em like that anymore".
