Kentucky Corn Pudding (with Recipe) & 31 Days To a More Organized Life!

Today we're having a tasty re-run - since I'm busy preparing for the next 31 days.

Why? We're participating in the 31 Days Series (which runs each day in October) and our topic...is
Kentucky Corn Pudding Recipe"Tasks that take 31 Minutes or less to make your life...just a little bit easier!"

I'm finding that as my days get busier I have to break things into tiny tasks. And, that's exactly what we'll be focusing on!

Since it's autumn, I'm in the mood for hearty and rustic dishes.
This one is a favorite of mine. Try it!
Maybe it will be a favorite of yours, too!
And, let us know what you think in the comments below!

********************************************

If any of you remember my post from a while back where I experienced my first fried green tomatoes, you might also remember my first corn pudding. (I took a really bad picture of it - shown below.) It tasted amazing.

Kentucky Corn Pudding RecipeSo, I thought I would try to replicate it.
It was a bit like a custard, a tad soufflé.

I tried this Beaumont's Inn's Famous Corn Pudding Recipe and it was 95% of what I remembered. I'm sure it's no coincidence that the Beaumont Inn is in Kentucky.

(Oh, and I added some nutmeg.)

Kentucky Corn Pudding - from the Beaumont Inn

2 cups white whole kernel corn, or fresh corn cut off the cob
4 eggs
8 level tablespoons flour
1 quart milk
4 rounded teaspoons sugar
4 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon salt
(I added 1/8 t. nutmeg)

In a large bowl, stir the flour, salt, nutmeg, sugar and butter into the corn. In a separate large bowl, beat the eggs well and add the milk. Add the egg/milk mixture to the corn mixture and stir. Pour into a Pyrex dish. Bake at 450 for about 40-45 minutes.

Important:
Stir vigorously with a long fork three times (approximately 10 minutes apart) while baking - disturbing the top as little as possible.

Sadly, my camera focused on the gryos burger in the back, but you can at least get a feel for my finished product.

Kentucky Corn Pudding Recipe It was very good. Custardy, sweet corny goodness. Let us know what you think!
Enjoy!

VIDEO: 25 Different Ways to Wear a Scarf

25 Ways to Wear a Scarf - VIDEOI saw this on TidyMom and just had to share it.

We're entering the scarf season. I have tons. But, I never wear them because I feel like I'm doing the same knot or toss over the shoulder every time.

Not anymore! Check out this video of 25 different ways to wear thin to bulky scarves. And, at the very end of the video - click on whatever you like and it will link to another video which will show you step by step how to do it. Very cool.

Blog Tip: You Don't Even Know...It's Not Working! (Save the Pigeons!)

Can you spot the problem?
I'll give you a hint.

Ah! THERE it is!
The no reply address.

It means that unless someone happens to know you personally, or is willing to hold their bushel basket of 50's in one hand while they put on their thinking cap with the other...and try to find how to contact you through your blog...you are pretty much unreachable.

Now, I do have a coop of finely trained homing pigeons at the ready for cases like this. But, they get tired. Oh, so tired.

Here's the good news!
It's SOOOOO easy to fix!

Hop on over to Funky Junk and check out this post. Donna has you covered. It's in the "Activate Your Profile/Email" section just a little while down the page.

While you are there, check out her others tips, too.

Now, perhaps you have your e-mail intentionally blocked.
But, I betcha 99% of you just don't know the default setting exists.

And, you never know!
Some leprechaun might have a pot of gold with your name on it.
More likely, if you are an Etsy seller or small business owner, you are missing out on a buck or two.

It only takes a minute.
Do it today.
Save the pigeons!

Totally Random Tuesday & Super Simple Tips That Don't Cost a Penny (Part 2)

Before we get to today's Super Simple Tips, I have a strange question for you.

Let's just call this...
Totally Random Tuesday!
(Hey, maybe we'll make this a regular feature - who knows)

Today's Totally Random Question is:

When you are at hanging out at home, are you:
a) Wearing your shoes
b) Wearing only socks
3) Wearing slippers
42) Shoeless Joe - letting those piggies fly free!

Let us know in the comments below!

Okay, so a while back we did Part 1 of Super Simple Tips That Don't Cost a Penny. And, you guys shared some ideas of your own, too.

Here's a couple more ideas I love.
Speaking of shoes...

Shower caps.
Boy, I must have thrown a million of these puppies into thelandfill over a lifetime. Who knew there was a use that didn't involve a moo-moo and blue hair? Muu Muu? Whatever it's called. (My apologies to any of you who have blue hair.)

This one makes me smile. Yep, I have plastic travel soap containers. Plenty. And, I can't tell you why - considering when I travel I pack bath gel and the little baby soap from whatever hotel I'm in. This is a travel tip I'll prolly use.

Okay, then.
So, shoes? No shoes? Slippers? Nekkid toesies?
What's your pleasure?
