So, here's another shout out to Sarah at Thrifty Decor Chick!
Luckily, I followed her directions.
Completely.

And, it was a lot of fun!
I love the way the wreath turned out. And, I have at least one more planned - a gold, red, shiny sparkly assortment. (And, it just might turn out to be someone's gift...if it turns out nice enough.)

It took a LOT more ornaments than I expected. But, it was fun AND it saved me tons of money. Take a gander at this... easy ornament wreath pier one saving moneyWow! That's the wreath I wanted, but for $60 dollars I thought I would just make my own.

Plus, mine was shatterporoof! LOL!

We've been joking as we walk through the stores at how the plastic ornaments (and natural PINECONES!) are being marketed as "Shatterproof."

Was there a big problem with pinecones shattering last season??

I thought about wrapping red garland through the way Pier One did, but I decided I liked the clean look better.

The hardest part?
Finding flat head tacks. Seriously. I wanted to hang my wreath with a giant ribbon - which I learned from The Nester who demonstrates a simple pretty method of How to Hang a Wreath.

Cranberry Joy - Frozen Wreath

I was perusing Better homes and Gardens at bhg.com when I stumbled upon fruity find. And, since my new flannel sheets arrived yesterday, I'm actually looking forward to a deep freeze. Sorta.

Riffing off the idea above, I think I might use a lipped sheet pan and make "Joy!" I'll try using a little less water on the top of the cranberries so it isn't a thick block of ice.

And, then I'll put a thick ribbon through the "O" to hang it on my door (like The Nester shows here) as a joyful wreath.

If you live in a climate that's already frighteningly frigid...
Let me know if you try it.
I'll posts the pics and we'll all admire your handiwork. Pin It

The Remodeling Guy - A Must Read

You know, I'm always on the look out for easy project ideas.
Why easy?
Cuz I'm lazy.
And, I have a short attention span.
What was I saying? Oh, the picture, right.

Recently I was reading The Nester (which is an amazing "easy-peasy" beautiful decorating site) and she had a guest poster, The Remodeling Guy. I hopped over to his blog to see the kitchen island above - with directions on how to (possibly) get that done in a day - by using -get this - dressers from Goodwill.

Now, the only thing I like better than...easy creative ideas...is saving money! So, I quickly added The Remodeling Guy to my iGoogle page, AND I became a "fan" at his Remodeling Guy Facebook Page, too.

I love the kitchen (dresser) island idea. Hope you do, too.
