(I do have some personal goals.)
But, when I came across this idea today, something stirred.
Joe, over at Just Another Statistic has begun a Minus 365 project. He's getting rid of one thing - whether big or small - each day for a year.
I love this idea.
I have MORE than enough - much more. And, even though many times I say things like, "I won't bring another NEW thing in the house unless I get RID of something else" - it doesn't work.
Don't get me wrong - I'm not bringing large things home. There's no cash for that. But, when I find something for 75% off and it's something I've been eyeing for over a year - like nativity scene above - it comes home.
So, like Joe, I'm going to try to get rid of one thing each day. It might be as big as a box of china or as small as the zipper hood I found in my closest yesterday from a coat I've long donated.
Seriously.
And,what did I do with the hood? Yep, in my rush to find what I was originally looking for, I put it back in the closet. D'oh! So, I'm gonna grab a hefty bag and hang it on the back of a door with purpose.
Here's "The Plan."
My own version of "Reduce, reuse, recycle."
Each day something either gets:
1) Mailed off as a sold item from my CafeD Etsy shop.
2) Tossed in the Donation bag.
3) Tossed in the garbage.
Pretty simple. Now, since I'm an all or nothing sort of person who can get stuck if things aren't perfect, I'll go ahead and just give myself the grace to skip a day or two.
I'm not looking for perfection here.
I'm seeking momentum.
Thank you to Pam Kueber at Retro Renovation which is how I found out about Joe!
How about you?
What resolutions or goals do you have this year? And, what grace are you offering yourself to help insure good results?

YOU are a smart girl.
Keep clutter and chaos (Can't Have Anyone Over) at bay!
It's so nice to meet you, new friend, and I love ANYTHING having to do with a cafe', so I'm your new friend, too!
I love what you said: Momentum, not perfection.
I think I will memorize that.
Happy day of blessings to you as you make your home, Dana!!
