Virtually Speechless - For Edie

This morning I auto-posted a perfectly fine discussion about the Color of the Year.
But, there's something more important to blog about today...

Today is Edie's birthday. And, that's a very special day.
Who is Edie?
Edie is a blogger, a mother, a woman of faith. She's a soul who has used her online resources to share her thoughts. And, she's helped me grow.

She's also a woman
who most would say...
lost it all 2 weeks ago.

You see, she lost her home and everything in it in the early morning hours.
Yet, her children and husband were saved.

Edie has a promise from God.
And, she holds to it tightly.

She has a way, even in this, to find words.
Me - I'm virtually speechless.

She wrote:
My heart is full and grateful. I am overwhelmingly sad and yet unable to stop rejoicing. My mother is amazing. My husband is my rock. My children are so incredibly brave. I am blessed beyond measure. It’s as if our friends and family have become the hands and feet of Christ, bringing love and help and healing.

Have you ever felt that?
I have. When your friends and family lift you up when you can't muster the strength to even put one foot in front of the other?

As Edie's Pastor put it, ironically two days before the fire,
"God doesn’t give explanations, He gives promises."

So today, Edie, know that that there are women all over blogland linking up their blogs for you - but more importantly, they're sending up their prayers.

Try to rest.
Try to breathe.
And, try to find a few moments to steal away...
And, for just a mere second stop being a mother.
And, a wife. A sister. A woman.
And, just be a child.
In his arms.
And, feel His undivided love.
For you.

How sweet of you!
Edie has also touched my heart and home--my cafe's cabinets are inspired by her old kitchen's green/blue color.
This was a most excellent tribute you wrote for her!
