Yesterday we worked out a system for our junk drawers. Some of us used what we had - including re-used storage containers, jewelry boxes, old checkbook boxes and the like.

Today, we're continuing to "Use what you've got."
Upcycling, recycling, "going-green." Saving a dollar or saving the Earth might be your passion. Maybe the great economic downturn has your head reeling. Whatever the reason, you can do a lot with very little.

I love those little paint containers that used to be food storage. One of these days I'll get around to blogging our kitchen re-do. We kept various paint colors in containers just like this. Worked great.

We have lots of batteries. Our wii system apparently eats them for dinner.
So, we have lots of batteries to store. Yep, you can buy specialized containers. We just use left-over food containers. Since they are see-through, we know when it's time to watch for sales.

Be creative with your storage.Funky shaped bottles? You might have some funky shaped kid stuff.

Treat yourself to your own little crayon box.Collect all your nail polish colors in one location.(And, if you are like me - see that you own 5 of the same color. Ugh.)

Maybe you used to cross stitch.Still have the thread box?It makes a great wall hook, nuts and bolts container!

Have more nuts and bolts than the average gal?

Clean out a peanut butter jar.(I've done this and it works beautifully.)
What's the strangest thing you've needed to store? What other things are perfect for food storage containers?Tell us in the comments below!
