The Junk Drawer.
Most kitchens (or dens) have them.
How in the world do they get so out of hand?
Now's the time. Grab the drawer and put it on the couch next to you while you watch TV, if necessary. Purge, toss - recycle all those menus for places you never eat at or are out of business. Toss out all those "Save 30 of these receipts" because you'll never recoup them anyway - and if you do, you find out that saving all those greasy slips of paper over the years has netted you a - wow - 10" pizza!! Woo! Hoo!
Yeah, we really did save up.
It really was 10 inches.
So depressing....
Now, I grew up in a home with a Depression-era Mom.
That means that she saved pretty much every scrap of string.
I don't want to live that way.
So, here's where I draw the line.
If I can buy it/replace it for $5 or less, I ditch it.
Your mileage may vary.
Actually, I don't have to use that in the kitchen anymore.
But, I sure need to use it in my basement.
I have at least 4 of these stains in my basement.
Just like nail polish, a couple are the exact same shade, too.
So, if I can replace them for $3.68 and I haven't used them in 5+ years....
Well, you get the idea.
Today is purging.
